If you can't find a solution to your issue on this page below please see the EQHD-Troubleshooting channel on Equiality Sims Discord for more help.

Q: “Help! My horse is glowing!”

A: Remember to disable bloom! Information for doing so may be found on the here or the here.

Q: “My horse’s junk is covered in teeth!”

A: Make sure you’ve read through and done the Overlay/Junk tutorial here to correctly remap the textures onto your horse’s junk.

Q: “The morphing eyelashes can’t be recolored!”

A: Your horse probably isn’t a unicorn! Check out how to change them here.

Q: "My horse is sporting a new body but the head didn't change?!"

A: Make sure you remove all of the old junk files from Cmar:

  • cmar_StallionJunkScript.package

  • HorseSheathV5.package

  • HorseTesticlesV5.package

File names may differ depending on the exact version of Cmar’s mod you originally downloaded!

Q: “I can’t get the unicorn horn eyes off!”

A: Make sure you’ve read all the information listed underneath the non-default eyes here

Q: “I really want to use the EQHD body mod, but I don’t want my male horses to have genitalia, and/or I don’t want to have two extra sliders I don’t plan to use. What can I do?”

A: If this is the case, simply do not install the stallion junk sliders, or Cmar’s script file - the body mod will work just fine without these and you will not need to worry about your male horses getting junk, or taking up limited slider slots!

Q: “Help! I think all of the mods were installed correctly and I followed the update instructions, but my horse’s conformation looks weird!”

A: As noted on the mod page, horse conformations will almost definitely need to have their sliders adjusted to account for the new body mod! We apologize for this inconvenience, but in the long term, we hope that you will see the benefit in doing so!

Q: “I’ve installed everything correctly and have updated my horse’s conformation, but a lot of the manes and tack look weird on them?”

A: As noted on the mod page, because of how extensive the changes to the horse mesh are, most of the existing horse content will need to be updated to fit the new mod. This will be an ongoing process, and we are grateful for your patience and - perhaps even - your help in working towards making these updates!

Q: “I’ve installed everything correctly, but many of my stallions don’t automatically have the new junk applied. What gives?”

A: The new junk mod has been designed to look best with the sliders applied at max value. If you did not have your junk sliders fully applied using the old mod, your stallions may still have their junk hidden using the new mod. We recommend checking your slider setting and ensuring that it is applied at the max value.

Please note that if you use slider multipliers the max value will be multiplied and may look strange.

Q: “Some of my sliders don’t seem to do anything anymore after I installed several of the new sliders?”

A: EA enabled a hard cap on the maximum number of usable sliders that may be installed at one time. If you attempt to install more pets sliders than the cap allows, some sliders will stop being usable. Unfortunately, NRaas does not allow for more pets sliders, and only allows for more human sliders. To our knowledge, only core mods are able to provide this function, specifically AwesomeMod, and Cmar’s XCAS

If you are not comfortable installing a core mod in your game, then your only other option is to be selective of which custom content pet sliders you use, to ensure that you remain below the game’s allowed cap. EA replacement sliders do not count towards this limit.

Q: “I want to use the EQHD body mod, but I don’t have access to the programs required to/don’t know how/don’t want to update my horse’s HD files myself. What can I do?”

A: A small selection of already-updated HD mods may be found here. If you are using a private mod, or a public mod that we have not updated, it will either be up to you or the original creator of the mod to perform the necessary updates - we have no plans to update or release any other public HD mods, as we have provided the resources necessary to update existing ones.

Q: “I really like the new horse mesh and the new mods, but having the unicorn effects on all of my horses is kind of annoying. Can I do anything about this?”

A: Because of the way that the game handles visual effects like these, disabling any of them requires a replacement of some parts of the build files. Some mods, such as core mods and NRaas, already do this for some effects - however, to our knowledge, none of them act on the unicorn effects specifically. Luckily, there is a modder-made application that will allow you to quickly and easily create a custom replacement file that will disable your desired visual effects - including unicorn effects! However, because you may only have one such file installed at a time, and said file must include all of the effects you want disabled, we have decided to not create and provide one that disables unicorn effects only, as it is very common for others to run other mods that disable various effects. Therefore, it will be up to you to use the tool to create your own custom effects disabler package.

Find the tool here.

Q: “I’ve installed everything correctly and have tried updating my horses, but I don’t like how the new mod makes them look.”

A: Feel free to not use it if it’s not to your taste! As with all mods, usage is optional.

Q: “I’ve installed everything correctly, and I like how the mod looks, but I’m having a hard time making a certain breed with the new model, what can I do?”

A: If there is a particular breed that you’re struggling to create, feel free to provide feedback to us - we are hoping to broaden the range of horses that may be created in the future. We may not be able to provide an option for every horse conformation possible, as at the end of the day the horse model will always be a “middle average” in a game with many limitations, but we would still like to allow for as much customization as possible.
